Don't Give Up


 "Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary." - Paul's letter to the Galatians.

 Sometimes our efforts can seem fruitless. If we're honest, we've all felt that way. We put in, we invest, we care, we do, and little seems to change. But that's just our human perspective, for God has made a promise.

 The thunderstorm echoing outside my window reminds me of His promise:

 For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

 God's purpose and plan will be accomplished in you because your heart is good ground and He is sowing into that good ground. So do not lose hope.

 But how do we keep from growing weary? Well there are many options out there that promise refreshment. But only One truly satisfies; only One can really restore our souls. And that One is Jesus - His door is always open; His light is always on. He is the Approachable One, the Restorer, the One who daily bears our burdens. And He can't wait to hear from you and carry your woes.
So, when you are on the edge, at the edge, over the edge, go to Him. Don't give up, go to Him and find the strength to leave the land of weary and continue on in the fight. 

 What a friend we have in Jesus!

Sometimes dreams must die. Dreams never realized can be heartbreaking, but there's nothing that leads to that craggy road called discouragement more directly than dreams realized and then lost. The hope of marriage broken on the rocks of disappointment and conflict. Booming investments in the market tail spinning into oblivion on the comment of a high political official. God's promises realized seemingly put to bed for good.  Seemingly.  I want to give you hope. She is just sleeping. The young vibrant female we call hope is not dead. She is just sleeping.
