Charles Darwin may have thought he had a clue when formulating his now famous Theory Of Evolution, but he knew little of the human cell and its incredible complexity. In fact, the more recent scientific discoveries of the intricacy of the human cell have caused some modern scientists to question and even discard Darwin's writings on evolution by natural selection and trade them in for "Intelligent Design". 

In April of 1953, Watson and Crick published their findings, a molecular structure of DNA; the double helix. This was something not grasped by Darwin when he wrote Origin of Species in 1859.

DNA is a highly structured, complex molecule that carries our genetic information. The wonder of how DNA is constructed, how it allows itself to be copied in reproduction, and the specificity of its instructions may lead us to think that this is not the result of an accident or chance. Perhaps, there is even intelligence in its design? On the contrary, given the sheer volume of information that a DNA strand contains, to believe that this evolved from a pool of proteins and goo would require faith; a lot of faith.

But that's not all there is. Did you know that individuals can be identified by their DNA? In fact, because an individual can be identified by their DNA, it is becoming increasingly vital to ensuring accuracy and fairness in the criminal justice system. Each person with a unique DNA signature. It's almost as if we have been signed, just a like an artist signs a painting when they are done with it.

You could say, without taking too much of a leap, that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. What a refreshing deviation from the stamp of hopelessness and pointlessness evolution puts on us.

Where as evolution says, you are an accident, the Creator says, you were made with purpose and a future. Where the naturalistic worldview says there is no over-arching moral guide, act as seems best to you, God lays out a plan for your life for true happiness and fulfillment. Where the mythical escalator of a Darwinian mindset says have hope, for someday man will evolve to a pinnacle of temporal Utopian bliss, God gives eternal purpose and assurance of heart by removing the fear of death.

The theories and scientific speculations of man offer no hope for anything beyond this life. God, the Creator, offers hope not only in this life, but the assurance of eternal life. He offers no guilt in life and no fear in death. His offer is hope; His offer is Jesus.
